Visual Art – Ottawa
Hello!! My name is Ellen Astle and I'm an artist from Alexandria, Ontario. I will paint anything and everything, when it really stands out to me! I currently have three series on the go; Metis-sur-mer seascapes in oils, sea glass up-close in acrylics, and a daily watercolour. Nature walks, thrifting, and ping-pong are my jams! I'm also an incredible cat lady! Fresh out of high school, I studied interior decorating at Algonquin College in Ottawa, where I learned a lot of foundational drawing skills. Thirsty for more, I then studied art history at Carleton University, which I loved! But still not sure what I wanted to do after I graduated, I decided to go teach English overseas. Came back and got my B.Ed from University of Ottawa and then got to teach art in Northern Quebec for a couple of years, which was such an amazing experience! Since then and for the past 5 years, I've been focusing on making art in Ontario and PEI!!
